POST DIPLOMA IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY (PDIS)

  • EHS Technical Education Centre managed by Ankleshwar Environmental Preservation Society offers Post Diploma in industrial Safety course from the year 2000 in affiliation with Technical Examinations Board, Gujarat State. This Two-year part time Programme enables a candidate to acquire the knowledge which is required to mitigate industrial accidents. Candidates will be trained to prevent losses related to industrial hazards, techniques and procedures and for overall safety management which can contribute effectively to the safety function in an industrial establishment.

Objective

  • To enable a person to acquire the knowledge, skills and perspective necessary to contribute effectively to industrial safety function in a large/medium- scale industrial establishment.

Career Opportunities

  • Safety Officer in any Production industry such as Chemical Plants, Pharmaceutical, Food Processing, Textile, Paper Industry, Thermal Power, Oil Refineries, Cement Industry, Electrical Equipment’s, Manufacturing, petrochemicals etc. There are service industries like Transportation, Tourism, Packaging, Logistics, Insurance etc where candidate may get recruitment as Safety Officer.

Eligibility Criteria

04. Post Diploma in Industrial Environmental Technology and Management. 2 years
05. Diploma in any discipline of Engineering or Technology. 2 years
06. B.Sc. with Chemistry, Physics, Electronics or Environment as principal subject. 2 years

The experience shall be counted after acquiring the requisite qualification and should be as under:

  1. Experience should be in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Safety, Health or Hygiene, Fire or Environment Department of an industry or working as Professional.

OR

  1. Experience in Research, Training or Education in the field of Safety, Health or Hygiene, Fire or Environment or Engineering or Technology.

OR

  1. Experience in a Government Department in Administration of Industrial Safety, Health, Hygiene or Environmental Legislation or in Public Health Department.

Admission Procedure

  • The eligible candidate can apply for as per above mention criteria of eligibility by TEB for admission. Admission to the program would be based on performance of the Interview conducted by institute and evaluation of their educational qualification and work experience.
  • The final merit list of selected candidate would be on basis of quota and marks as per the norms of TEB.

Paper-5 Hazards Identification, Assessment and Control Techniques
Paper-6 Industrial Hygiene and Health
Paper-7 Legislation on Safety and Health
Paper-8 Advance Safety Management and Engineering Techniques

Other Inclusions

  • Project Work, and b. Participate in Industrial Visits, Seminars, etc.

Award of Diploma

  • Has passed the final examination at the end of the Programme (including the oral examination); and
  • Has completed project work and practical tests to the prescribed standard; will be eligible to receive the post diploma
  • The diploma will be awarded by the Technical Examinations Board, Gujarat.
Duration
  • The course is for two-year part time course of 4 semesters. Academic Term for PDIS will commence from June-August.
Attendance:
  • 80% of attendance in class is compulsory as per the norms of TEB.
