Inspection of discarded empty packing material
- Ankleshwar Industries Association and GPCB have approved AEPS (Ankleshwar Environmental Preservation Society) as inspection agency for drum inspection.
- Any party can contact for inspection of discarded packing materials to AEPS.
- After receipt of request letter AEPS chemist will visit the unit and identified the packing materials/drum/carboys to be discarded.
Procedure for inspection of packing materials
- It should be decontaminated by industry before inspection.
- AEPS chemist will select at least 10% drums/carboys on random basis.
- Chemist will pour 1 lit. Water in each selected drum.
- Composite samples will be taken from drums and under testing label will put on each drum/packing materials.
- After sampling, a Performa with Code will be given to the party regarding details of Inspection of packing materials.
- Samples will be analyzed at AEPS laboratory.
Packing materials will be rejected in case if:
- Any chemicals/Sludge found in the packing materials/drum while physical checking.
- PH of the sampling solution is beyond the limits of GPCB norms.
- COD more than 250ppm.
- Objectionable odor observed.
7. If report is okay, then Chemist will again put the labels of “Inspected –OK” on each drum/packing material.
